Land Use & Natural Resources
Cox, Castle & Nicholson is home to one of California’s top-ranked land use and natural resource practices, with 25 lawyers located in Northern and Southern California. Our practice covers all aspects of the entitlement, development and construction of a broad range of large-scale projects, including master-planned communities, renewable energy projects, commercial developments, and industrial and institutional projects. Our lawyers have unparalleled experience at all levels of government.
We are experts in the preparation of environmental review documents under CEQA and NEPA, and the defense of third-party litigation brought against land use and resource permits. We are on the cutting edge of legal developments in California, including greenhouse gas regulation, SB 375 and the Bay-Delta water proceedings. Our lawyers are statewide leaders in permitting and development of wind and solar energy projects. Additionally, we are experienced in the application of all state and federal natural resource laws, including the Endangered Species Act and Section 404 of the Clean Water Act.
